Bicycle Recall Expanded Due to Fall Hazard

An additional 460 bicycles were recalled by Specialized Bicycle Components, Inc. this week.

The California based distributor previously recalled 14,200 2012 Bicycles with Advanced Group carbon forks in September 2011.

The problem: the brake part within the bicycle’s carbon fork can disengage from the fork, potentially allowing the brake assembly to come in contact with the wheel spokes while the bike is in motion.

The bikes were manufactured by Advanced Group of Taiwan and sold at authorized specialized retailers nationwide from June through November 2011. They come in various colors, and have the model name “Tricross Sport” or “Tricross Comp” on the top tube.

Consumers should immediately stop riding these bicycles and return them to an authorized Specialized retailer for a free repair or replacement carbon fork. For more information, contact Specialized toll-free at (877) 808-8154 or visit the company’s website at www.specialized.com.
