After 18 years of marriage, Melanie Griffith has filed for divorce from Antonio Banderas. The actress, 56, filed papers in Los Angeles on May 30. Griffith is seeking spousal support, but is paying her own court fees, according to the paperwork.
The actors are parents to 17 year old daughter, Stella. This was Griffith’s fourth marriage and the second for Banderas. Griffith also has two children from her previous marriages, including 24 year old Dakota Johnson who’s set to star in the upcoming film for the chart topping novel Fifty Shades of Grey.
In a statement to People Magazine, their representative said, “We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost twenty years marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together.”
