Easy-to-Make Thanksgiving Centerpieces

Thanksgiving is a time for family and friends to gather together and share a wonderful, holiday meal. There is more to preparing for the great turkey day than cooking. The table setting creates the ambiance for occasion; therefore, it is important to design a Thanksgiving table centerpiece that will delight your guests.

Citrus Candles

Candles and citrus fruit make an aromatic and pretty Thanksgiving table centerpiece. You can cut oranges, lemons and limes in half lengthwise. Then take each half and slice it into half-moon shapes approximately 1/8 inch thick. Place them on a cookie sheet, and allow them to dry overnight. Once dry, use hot-glue guns to attach them in a pattern around the bottom half of cylinder candles and place the candles together in a pattern to make a pretty Thanksgiving table centerpiece.

Cornucopia

A new twist on a Thanksgiving tradition is to dress up a cornucopia to place at the center of the table. Locating a large enough cornucopia to hold several flowers and pieces of fruit should be the first step to making this delightful decoration. Fill the cornucopia with oranges, apples and limes. Slide flower stems in between the fruit pieces so that they are backed all the way in and only the flowers peek out. Set the cornucopia at the center of the table for your guests to enjoy.

Pumpkin Centerpiece

A pumpkin overflowing with flowers makes a wonderful Thanksgiving table centerpiece. Cut the top entire top off of the pumpkin and clean out the inside. Place paper towels inside to further dry the center. Filling the pumpkin with paper towels and newspapers will provide a base for flowers. If you cut the flower stems short enough, you can cover the entire top whole so that the newspaper stuffing is invisible. Choose a variety of fall blossoms for a colorful centerpiece. The pumpkin will serve as a base.
