Emmy Awards – Best Dressed Celebrity Moms

Celebrities hit the Emmy Awards in style on Sunday, rocking the red carpet in their finest attire. This year, we especially loved the comedy categories – not only do these moms make us laugh, but they look great doing it!

Here are some of our favorite funny ladies and their red carpet looks.

Melissa McCarthy

One of the big surprises of the evening was Melissa McCarthy’s win for best lead in a comedy series for her role in “Mike and Molly.”

The actress, who gave a touching acceptance speech, wore a deep purple dress that she designed herself.

“I designed [my dress] and I worked with Daniella Pearl, who is an amazing couture dressmaker,” she told Us Weekly.

McCarthy is married to actor and writer Ben Falcone. The couple has two daughters, Vivian (4)  and Georgette (1). And she’s not the only comedienne in the family – her cousin is the one and only Jenny McCarthy.

Julie Bowen

Bowen, who took home the trophy for best supporting actress in a comedy, looked absolutely stunning in a slinky Oscar de la Renta gown with a plunging neckline.

She paired the dress with a sleek low ponytail and a simple black clutch.

Not only does she play a busy mom in her role as Claire Dunphy on ABC’s Modern Family,  Bowen is a real-life mother of three.

The actress has three sons with real-estate investor husband Scott Phillips -four-year-old Oliver McLanahan and two-year-old twins, John and Gus.

Amy Poehler

The “Parks & Recreation” actress, nominated for best lead in a comedy, sparkled in a shimmery royal blue Peter Som number.

She accessorized the sequined floor-length gown with black diamond earrings and ring by Martin Katz.

Poehler brought her adorable husband of eight years, Will Arnett as her date. The couple has two sons – Abel James, 1, and Archie, who will turn 3 next month.

Tina Fey

Just about a month after giving birth to her second daughter, Fey showed off her post-baby body in a simple black floor length dress. The star of “30 Rock,” was nominated for best actress in a comedy series for the fifth year in a row.

She told Us Weekly that her husband, Jeff Richmond was home with their two girls – Alice, 5, and the new baby, Penelope Athena.

“My husband decided to stay home in New York and watch the girls,” she said. “But actually he hired a babysitter too. So they have dad – and a babysitter for backup!”

Edie Falco

Stunning in a one-shoulder champagne gown designed by Randi Rahm, Edie Falco took the stage towards the end of the evening with the other nominees for best actress in a comedy.

She paired the dress with a stylish updo and an antique Fred Leighton diamond bracelet.

Falco, who stars in Showtime’s “Nurse Jackie,” also received a Tony Award nomination this year for the Broadway revival of House of Blue Leaves.

And when she’s not acting, this single mom has two children to keep her busy – son Anderson, whom she adopted in 2005, and daughter Macy, adopted in 2008.
