The Best Cellulite Cream

October 11, 2009 by ModernMom Staff Leave a Comment

Cellulite creams claim to work by tightening the skin and working as a mild diuretic to remove excess fluid from the tissues under the skin. These creams cannot work miracles and will not remove or cure cellulite. They can, however, reduce the appearance of cellulite and give you firmer, smoother skin.

The Choices

There are a number of cellulite creams on the market, in both drug and department stores. Some of these creams are quite costly. All claim to tighten and tone the skin and none is harmful. Ingredients may include caffeine, retinol and L-carnitine. There are no statistical studies to prove that cellulite creams are effective, but anecdotal reports do suggest some improvement with use.

Revitol

Revitol is often ranked as the best cellulite cream. Normally priced at $39.95 a bottle, it is a mid-range option in terms of cost. Active ingredients include topically absorbed caffeine and retinol-A. Massage the cream into the desired areas well to help with absorption. Use twice a day until results are attained, then once a day for maintenance.

Neutrogena Anti-CelluliteTreatment

Neutrogena Anti-Cellulite Treatment is the best of the drugstore cellulite creams. Like Revitol, this cellulite cream relies on caffeine and retinol-A for its treatment properties. While Revitol retails at nearly $40.00, you can find Neutrogena’s cellulite treatment for under $20.00. The light scent and quick absorption add to the popularity of this cream.
