Wet & Wavy Hairstyles

In the hot summer months, wet and wavy hairstyles are more fashionable. Wet and wavy hairstyles can make you look fresh, cool and sexy. Whatever your hair length maybe, you can do a wet and wavy look by yourself. Try it at the beach or a party or for hot dinner date.

Wet and Wavy Bob Cut

The traditional bob cut is straight; however, you can now find curly and wavy versions of it. Create a wet and wavy style on your bob cut by using a 1.5-inch curling iron, preferably one that you can use on wet hair. Spritz your hair with water, and use your fingers to work it through your hair. Apply mousse using your fingers. Create 2-inch sections of hair all over your head. Make each 2-inch section wavy by winding each one in the curling iron for 15 to 20 seconds. Add hair gel in your palms, and squeeze your newly curled hair until you cover your hair with gel. Use a hair gel that is not too thick, or add a little bit of water to the gel to dilute it. This way your hair will not be too sticky. Tousle your hair, and add more gel to make your hair look wetter.

Wet and Wavy Layered

Create a wet and wavy layered hairstyle on your medium-length hair by creating layers for added depth. Layered hair will distribute the curls or waves so that there will be less knotting. Create layers by lifting different sections of hair strands at different angles from their natural growth pattern and cutting each one to a specific length. Wash your hair and add leave-in conditioner. Massage your hair with a clear styling gel, and then use a 2-inch curling iron–one that works on wet hair–to make waves for each 2-inch section of hair. Make your layers wavy with the curling iron in a similar fashion as the bob cut wet and wavy hairstyle. Add more clear styling gel, and tousle your hair with your fingers.

Wet and Wavy Beachy

For long hair, creating a wet and wavy beachy hairstyle–which is similar to Megan Fox’s hairstyle when she attended the 2009 MTV Awards–is ideal. In this hairstyle, only the crown is wet. Use a wide-toothed comb to remove the knots and tangles. Apply clear hair gel on your crown, and comb it again with the wide-toothed comb. Add firm-hold hair spray to keep it in place. Add waves to the rest of your hair using a 3-inch wide flat iron to make bigger waves on each 2-inch section of hair. Winding your hair using the flat iron for about 20 to 25 seconds will make the waves more pronounced. Tousle the waves with styling mousse to make your hair bouncy.
