In addition, 64 percent of parents believe games are a positive part of their children's lives. Xbox, which is one of the top providers of video games, offer a variety of options to cater to every gamer, including video games played by families.

Features

Xbox family games are user-friendly, which means they are usually easier than the adult video games played by serious, more advanced or hardcore gamers. In addition, the Xbox family video games have features that enable parents and children to play together, although a solo player setting is available as well. Parents or system owners can set permissions that will allow all members of the household to play with and enjoy Xbox 360 by providing a user-appropriate environment. The Family Setting feature of the Xbox 360 regulates the games kids play, as well as, their Xbox live interactions.

Playing Methods

Playing solely through the Xbox 360 console or Xbox Live are the two ways that families can enjoy Xbox video games together. With the pure console only, families can play games that they run from the console. On the other hand, the Xbox Live family video games played through Xbox Live, which is the main source of the games. Xbox Live also provides the ability for you to interact with other online subscribers who happen to play the same video games that your family is playing. Xbox Live also offers arcade-type games for everyone to play.

Benefits

Xbox family video games provide an alternative entertainment that everyone in the family can do together. They provide a variety of video games that are age-appropriate. Xbox Live offers Family Game Night, which gives families an opportunity for quality time together. Some available games are also educational in nature, which parents can use to prepare their young children for school.

Considerations

Before purchasing any video games, ensure that they are age-appropriate. Also, take into consideration the system requirements to ensure that the video games will work with your Xbox 360. Ensure that your system has, at the least, the minimum requirements for it to work.

Warning

Although family video games for Xbox 360 promote family togetherness, it is wise to keep a strict schedule for playtime. Video game addiction may become a problem if you do not set strict playtime guidelines. Make sure your family still follows a healthy lifestyle by engaging in physical activities and social events. Your family may become unsociable, couch potatoes if all they do is play video games.
