All-Natural Tea Remedy for Coughs and Sore Throats

May 30, 2013 by Madison Pados Leave a Comment

Does your little one have a cough or cold? When kids get sick, all any mom wants to do is make it all better… but how?

Don’t fret! To help soothe sore throats and relieve coughing, Erica Reid shares a recipe for homemade remedy tea – it’s easy to make and even tastes great.

Ingredients

  • Lemon
  • Honey
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Fresh ginger root

Directions

Cut off a piece of ginger, and use a vegetable peeler to remove the skin. Cut into small pieces and place in a pot.

Add water (about a cup or two), place on stove and bring to boil. While the mixture boils, cut a lemon in half and squeeze all the juice from one half into your mug. Tip: you may want to pick out seeds after squeezing.

Pour the water into the mug and remove any large ginger pieces with a spoon. Add a spoonful of honey and stir.

Last but not least, throw in a pinch of ground cayenne pepper.

There you go! A delicious ginger tea that’s sure to soothe sore throats and coughs!
