There’s a lot going on, especially with a newborn, and with everything else you have to think about, you shouldn’t have to worry about what to wear as you work on getting back to your pre–pregnancy size. We’re here to let you know that whether you’re a first-time mom or a veteran who has been around the mommy-block a time or two before, there is no need to sacrifice style while trying to get your figure back. Here are some effortless suggestions to help get you get through the transition out of maternity wear and back into your skinny jeans. (click on the pictures for a full-size view.)

V-Neck Top

This style is an easy way to feel sexy again and it’s a great choice for women getting back into their pre-baby form. We like v-necks with pretty draping, made of soft and luxurious fabrics. Our favorite picks include this beaded v-neck top from Akiko. The beading is eye-catching so it draws attention away from your mid-section, and as an extra bonus, the hidden tank underneath helps to slim the tummy.

Tunic

Riller and Fount’s super soft v-neck tunic skims the mid-section and narrows to a tighter hem. This sexy sleeveless tunic is not only stylish but the lush fabric makes it a dream to wear. Pair this with leggings, slouchy skinnies (see below) or even wear it as a mini-dress if you dare!

Flattering and Functional Pants

Stylish, comfortable and flattering, sometimes it’s difficult to find pants that fit all three of these important categories. We have a little secret that makes this choice easy. There’s skinny and then there’s slouchy skinny. Take a look at these slouchy skinny jeans from Genetic Denim. They are more forgiving around the waist and through the thigh so there is no need to squeeze into your pre-maternity jeans! Reach for these slouchy skinnies instead of sweatpants and you’ll instantly feel more put together. They’re great for running errands or attending mommy and me classes!

Ideal for Nursing Moms

When Dawn was nursing her newborn son last year, she realized that the easiest thing to wear while breastfeeding was a strapless dress. New from the happy LA collection, this strapless smocking maxi dress (available in silk and cotton slub jersey) is the most essential post-baby piece you'll need. These dresses are great year round — you can dress it up with a Chan Luu scarf or go for a more boho chic look with beaded necklaces and bangles! A dress you’ll wear all year round and long after you’re out of your maternity wear!

Quick, Chic Cover-Up for On-The-Go Moms

Tired of wearing your same old maternity zip hoodie? Turn to the happy LA lifestyle poncho instead! Its double v-neck is made of our exclusive luxurious fabric and trimmed in the happy LA signature striped silk. The poncho even has side stitching that trims and flatters all body types. This is casual chic at its finest and will be your ultimate go-to item!

Juggling Baby and Style is Possible!

As every mom knows, juggling style and a baby can be a challenge. These key items make getting dressed a stylish breeze, leaving more time with your little ones and less time wondering what to wear as you transition back into your pre-pregnancy wardrobe.
