Little is more frustrating thing than paying someone to paint your nails, only to smudge them a few minutes after leaving the salon. Even if you paint your own nails, having to redo a smudged one can be a major inconvenience. Fortunately, you can speed up the nail drying process. And the faster your nails dry, the less likely you are to smudge them.
Step 1
Apply polish properly. Use a base coat, two thin coats of polish and a clear top coat. Using a thick coat of nail polish will prolong the drying process.
Step 2
Use a fan or hairdryer on the coolest setting to dry your nails quickly. The increased air flow will help your nails dry faster.
Step 3
Dip your nails into a bowl of ice water. The cold temperature of the ice water will set your polish quickly.
Step 4
Spray your nails with nail spray. Using nail spray on your nails will harden the enamel faster. Be sure to follow the instructions on the package before using the spray.
