I’ve always been eternally optimistic, it’s just my nature. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become a bit more cynical but I always “rebound.” When people talk with me about starting their own business, too frequently I hear pessimism and negative thinking right out of the starting gate. This gets them nowhere fast. Beinig optimistic is in our genes, yes, but it’s also an exercise of the mind for those who tend to be more “glass half empty.” Before and during the launch of my biz Moisture Jamzz, Inc. rather than reading business and marketing books, I was drawn to self help books. I felt so empowered after reading Tony Robbins or Deepak Chopra. I didn’t know anything about the wholesale/retail industry that I was entering, but my positive thoughts and “can do” attiditude worked wonders. Start to become aware of your negative thought patterns (we all have them!) and swap them up quickly for the positive version. Starting a biz isn’t easy for anyone, but its much more possible when you start on the right foot. Empower yourself with positive thoughts and positive people. They are more powerful than you might think. No wonder my favorite childhood book was “The Engine that Could!” I think I can, I think I can… “Perpetual Optimism is a Force Mulitplier.” Colin Powell
