We Can’t Believe How Much We Loved Disney’s “Frozen”

November 22, 2013 by Madison Pados Leave a Comment

Disney’s latest animated film Frozen opens in theaters everywhere on November 27, 2013.

I can’t stop raving about what an amazing movie Frozen was – I’m telling everyone who will listen! This is Disney at it’s best, beautiful songs, gorgeous animation with just right use of 3-D – and best of all, as my eight-year-old daughter so aptly put it, “girl power”!

The story is loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen. The movie revolves around two sisters, Elsa (voiced by Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell), who are raised in isolation in a huge empty castle to hide the dark powers that Elsa possesses and tries desperately to control.

Like many Disney movies, their parents die (although this plot point was handled extremely well, so as not to traumatize youngsters) and the girls are left on their own. But things take a turn for the worse when the newly-coronated Queen Elsa loses control of her powers and inadvertently freezes her entire kingdom.

At this point, the adventure moves out of the castle where we are introduced to an extremely lovable snowman and a endearing reindeer, along with a few other square-jawed male characters.

All in all, the story is fast-paced and funny with toe tapping musical numbers and a twist that I definitely didn’t see coming.

To celebrate the movie’s debut, ModernMom attended the Disney premiere of Frozen in Los Angeles this week. The star-studded event glistened with real snow and featured snow globe making booths, Pop-tart and waffle decorating stations and much more…

Check out the photos from the premiere below:
