How do you handle twins and birthday parties? As a mother of two sets of twins, the daughter of twins, and the daughter-in-law of twins (crazy, huh?) Im tackling this issue with a lot of experience. Here are a few of the most commonly asked questions: 1. If you invite a child to a birthday party, should you invite his or her twin as well, even if they are not in the same class?
You never know when those important moments are going to pop up. My kids and I were strolling along the Walkway Over The Hudson (which I highly recommend for New Yorkers!) and someone walked by us,prompting my daughter to ask, Was that a boy or a girl?
My husband and I learned soon into the process of parenting two children (which soon multiplied into four children) that each needed, wanted and deserved his or her own special time. In the multi-tasking mayhem of a typical family day, it is simply impossible to dedicate quantity based special time to each of our children each day.
With several arrivals and departures of child care providers in our house this past year, Im considering serving dinner on airport trays.
As a babys vision improves, she is better able to distinguish between different shapes, colors and movements.
Pee, and the washing thereof, has permanently discolored a portion of our powder-blue hue. It makes me smile every time I see it. Children learn by making mistakes. We, as parents, have to let our children make those mistakes even if we can correct them before they happen.

Babies love to be played with and also should be encouraged to play alone. Although not yet capable of engaging in play with other children until the age of 12-18 months, babies love to watch older children play and be the object of (massive amounts of) affection.
Were In The Money! Well, sort of. My daughter came home all excited yesterday saying, Peter gave me fifty bucks! Me: Oh, thats cute. Is it a picture or Monopoly money? My girl: No, mom a real fifty Me: No, really? Show me. Fifty Bucks, MoneyShe continues, He gave it to me because he likes me. Me: Ohhh. Honey. You did nothing wrong. But I have to call Peters mom because we have to give it back, and his mom needs to know he gave it to you.
When my first set of twins was born seven years ago, I was super-duper organized. I was That Mom – the one you hate because she sent her birth announcements out before the babies were a week old (with pictures). The one who made homemade baby food, took and sent out pictures of every baby moment, and had the perfectly adorable nursery decor and coordinating twin outfits (with bows) for every occasion. I would have really annoyed the me of today.
