I visited my friend Alice the other day and was inspired by the peaceful tidyness of her home. Most of all, I was floored by her closet. ALL her dresses fit in about eight inches of closet space. And somehow she always looks fabulous – full disclosure: shes the type of person who can pair a hospital gown with a cute scarf and make it look couture. But still – eight inches!
Were heading in the right direction we planted a vegetable garden and we started composting. We mostly use reusable containers when we pack lunch and reusable bags when shopping. But theres still plenty more to do. Below is what I have accomplished this month by deciding to go green. Share some of your green tips by leaving a comment of your own!
I finally realized that just thinking about dinner in the morning is half the battle. For my whole adult life, Ive feared and dreaded dinner preparation. My brother used to say when I lived alone that all I needed were a few bowls and a few spoons because Id eat cereal every night. I forced myself to make more of an effort once I had kids, but its been a bumpy journey. As my friend, Gigi, put it, its always a time of day I hoped would just go away.
