Think Pink: Beauty Products That Support Breast Cancer Awareness

September 28, 2011 by Cyvia Lewis Leave a Comment

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the beauty industry does its bit to help by donating to charity some of the profits from limited edition pink-themed products.

Here is my pick of the PINKS:

The GOGO Campaign

My personal favorite…. Get One, Give One Beauty for a cause. Josie Maran has teamed up with City of Hope, a leading cancer research, treatment, and education institution, to launch the Get One Give One Campaign.

For each GOGO mascara purchased, Josie Maran Cosmetics will donate one mascara to a City of Hope cancer patient/survivor (up to 5,000 units). And through August 2012, she’ll donate $1 from every sale of the GOGO Instant Natural Volume Argan Oil Mascara to City of Hope’s research, treatment, and education of women’s cancers.

With your purchase, you are helping women look better, feel better, and build self-esteem. Now isn’t that beautiful? www.josiemarancosmetics.com

OPI Pink Shatter

Manicure magic!

Available in September and October 2011, each bottle of OPI’s Pink Shatter: Pink of Hearts has a special pink-ribbon tag and pink cap wrap to promote breast cancer awareness.

OPI will also be donating $25,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Dial NutriSkin Lotion – Breast Cancer Awareness Edition

Dial is offering a Breast Cancer Awareness version of its Extra Dry Skin lotion, as well as donating $100,000 to Breast Cancer Network of Strength.

This lotion is super-moisturizing and packed with a special blend of vitamins, nutrients and minerals for your skin.

Look good, feel good and support a good cause!

Elizabeth Grant Light Up Your Lips

Pucker up!

During the month of October, Elizabeth Grant International is donating 20% from the online sales of Light Up Your Lips in Sweet Pink to Breast Cancer Awareness programs.

This ultra-shiny, deep hydrating lip pigment even has a convenient gold mirror attached to the tube.

Estee Lauder

The Evelyn Lauder & The Elizabeth Hurley Pink Ribbon collection, which includes a Pure Color lipstick in either Long Lasting Evelyn Wildly or Crystal Lavish Pink and a pink croc-embossed clutch.

Both retail for $25, and Estee Lauder will donate 20% of sales to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Philosophy

Philosophy’s Hope In a Jar is a beloved favorite when it comes to moisturizers.

Through October, the company will donate $5 from every jar purchased to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

And the 100% net proceeds from the sales of Shower for the Cure Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath will go directly to The Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) Women’s Cancer Research Fund.

Jane Iredale Roses & Lollipops Lip Duo

This double play has two flattering shades, tucked away inside a portable keychain locket.

100% of the proceeds will go to Living Beyond Breast Cancer.

Sultra Curling Iron

The Bombshell Pink rod curling iron from Sultra helps you creates the curls or waves you want in less time with no lines.

Sephora

The Collection Color Flip Palette comes with three tiers of color, including eye shadows, lip glosses, a bronzer, and a blush. ($15)

Sephora Collection Pop Up Hair Brush is the perfect travel companion. This chic little compact opens to reveal both a mirror and a pop-up brush inside, and best of all, it’s bedazzled with a pink ribbon. ($8)

For both these products, Sephora will donate $1 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation for each one sold.
