Teens With Cancer Get a Prom Night to Remember

April 6, 2012 by Madison Pados Leave a Comment

Teens with cancer were treated to a night to remember on March 30, at the Friends of Scott Foundation’s 6th Annual “Unforgettable Prom.”

Held at the San Diego Hall of Champions, the event is dedicated to giving local teens battling cancer an evening of prom-themed fun and excitement.

This year’s theme was Dreams Do Come True – and girls and boys were treated to formal wear and hair and makeup services, as well as styling by celebrity stylist Anya Sarre – the head fashion stylist for “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider.” The evening was full of music, dancing, food – and of course, limos and corsages.

Unforgettable Prom is coordinated by The Friends of Scott Foundation, along with the support of The Drew Brees Foundation, Southwest Airlines and the San Diego Hall of Champions.  The event is also made possible thanks to generous participation and donations from local merchants and services including Anya Sarre – Stylist, Emerald City Limousine, Xtreme Fun, Robert Zakar, Cinderella’s Attic, Friar Tux, La Mesa Florist, and Rico’s on Third, Model Call and Model Call Salon.

Prom Night, the highlight of most teenagers’ high school years, is a forgotten dream for many of these teens.  In 2007, The Friends of Scott Foundation enlisted the support of the community to give local teens an evening to forget about cancer, needles, hospital beds and treatments and enjoy an exciting and glamorous evening. This year marks the 6th Annual Unforgettable Prom.
