The atmosphere at a kid’s birthday party can be dampened when a particular supply is missing for a party’s event or activity. For example, a game of kickball will be spoiled if no one remembers to bring the ball. Having a checklist will ensure that all the little details have been remembered.

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Today is the 25th anniversary of our nation’s commemoration of Rev. Martin Luther King’s birthday. To celebrate, here is the text of Rev. King’s infamous, “I Have a Dream” speech, delivered from the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. on August 28th, 1963. I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.

The number 1,475 always sticks in my mind. That is the number of loads of laundry I do in a year. Each morning before I wake the kids up to get ready for school, I throw in the first of four loads that I will do in a day. Too me, that washing machine is like a partner. I know everything about it, the sounds it makes, how to tap it so it stops squeaking, and how to push its buttons. So imagine my shock and bit of sadness when I came home from dropping the kids off at school and walked in to smell something burning.
Summer Teen Employment
Taking a summer job is nearly a teen rite of passage. Whether it’s flipping burgers or mowing lawns, many teens enjoy using their time off of school to pad their pockets and build some real-world work experience. While teen summer jobs are still obtainable, they may not be as readily available to today’s teens as they were in decades past, making acquiring one of these sought-after summer positions a bit more of a challenge.
