FAA Approved Toddler Car Seats
Most parents take every precaution to ensure their children are safe in appropriate car seats when traveling by car. But what about when traveling by plane? The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recommends that all children under 40 pounds use an FAA approved child restraint system (CRS) when flying. According to the FAA, children less than 20 pounds should sit in a rear-facing CRS and children who weigh 20 to 40 pounds should sit in a forward-facing CRS. Toddlers must sit in a forward-facing car seat—not a booster seat. The majority of booster seats use a lap and shoulder belt for proper positioning and these belts are only found in cars, not airplanes. If you’re traveling with a toddler, make sure the seat fits the height and weight of your child and that it’s FAA approved. Seats will not say “FAA Approved” on them, but will say something like, “This restraint is certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft.” Here are some popular FAA approved toddler car seats.
About Surrogate Parents
There are diverse reasons that someone may consider surrogacy. Sometimes, an infertile woman has an abnormal womb or no womb, preventing a successful pregnancy. Sometimes, health conditions such as a heart problem may prevent a traditional pregnancy. There are also cases in which a single man or two homosexual men wish to contract a surrogate parent.
Vacation Ideas for Families With Young Children
Vacationing with young children requires planning, patience and flexibility. A vacation filled with a heavy sightseeing schedule may result in temper tantrums, missed naps and stress. Relying on public transportation is difficult because of car seat issues and limited schedules. Young children are often happier with vacations that allow lots of activity and less structure. Choosing child-friendly hotels and activities that allow for nap time will be more relaxing for kids and parents.
Fun Things to Do With Children in Los Angeles
Los Angeles is an ideal place to vacation with children, because the weather is often pleasant and there are a million places–both natural and man-made–to visit. The only downside is traffic, and it is almost guaranteed that you will need to spend a good amount of time driving to get from sight to sight. Plan accordingly by visiting sights by neighborhood and avoiding driving during rush hour. Rather than pop back to the hotel at 3pm, take a lemonade break at shady cafe or go into a neighborhood library or bookstore for a spell. Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and to stay hydrated while exploring this fascinating city.
