Smoked Salmon Recall

Double check your New Year’s Eve party menu – because smoked salmon is being recalled at Sam’s Club stores in 42 states across the nation due to possible listeria contamination.

The salmon was produced by Multiexport Foods Inc. out of Florida.

The recall includes cold smoked salmon in 12-ounce twin packs and 1.25-pound bundles under the brand “Paramount Reserve”.

The salmon is being recalled as a precautionary measure after a shipment possibly contaminated with listeria was found.

The products affected in the recall were distributed between Nov. 12 and Dec. 21.

Listeria bacteria can cause fatal infections in young children, frail, or elderly people. Individuals may suffer from fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

No illnesses have been linked to the product thus far.
