Gund Recalls to Replace Paperboard Books Due to Choking Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada have recalled Gund Baby Paperboard Books. 15,100 books have been recalled in the United States and 865 have been recalled in Canada.

The styrofoam used to fill the book binding can detach. This poses a choking/aspiration hazard to infants and young children. There have been no injuries reported.

The books include,  "Animals" (item number 059174), "Numbers" (item number 059175) and "Colors" (item number 059176). The books were also sold as a three-book set (item number 059173). The name "Gund" and the item number are located on the back of the books.

Contact Gund at (800) 436-3726  or visit the firm's Web site at www.gund.com.
