Simplicity Crib and Graco Crib RECALL

Two crib recalls were announced today: The Simplicity Crib and the Graco Branded Drop Side Cribs made by LaJobi.

All Simplicity Cribs with tubular metal mattress support frames, regardless of model number have been recalled. According to the Consumer Product Commission, the crib's tubular metal mattress-support frame can bend or detach and cause part of the mattress to collapse, creating a space into which an infant or toddler can roll and become wedged, entrapped or fall out of the crib. One infant death has been reported. The infant suffocated.  Visit www.cpsc.gov for more information.

The Graco Drop Side Crib are recalled due to entrapment and suffocation hazards. The drop side hardware can break, allowing the drop side to detach from the crib. A hazardous gap is created where the infant can get wedged or even fall out of the crib. About 217,000 units have been recalled. For more information,  visit www.cpsc.gov

Stop use of the cribs immediately. Do not try to fix the problem.
