McDonald’s Recalls 12 million Shrek Glasses Due To Toxic Metal

McDonald's is recalling 12 million Shrek glasses because the paint contains the toxic metal cadmium.

Cadmium is a carcinogen that can cause severe kidney problems and bone softening. When children touch the glass, the concern is that the toxic metal in the paint would get on their hand which they then most likely  would put in their mouth (especially if they are eating). These glasses were sold for about $2 in four designs promoting the new Shrek movie.

And we thought the danger was in the fried food…
