How to Create a Baby Name Web Poll

You know the sex of your baby, you have his nursery decorated, his outfits picked out, and your suitcase is packed and ready to go to the delivery room. The only problem is, you haven’t decided on a name for the little guy yet. If you have a short list of names, you can create an online poll and ask your friends and family to vote for the baby name they like the best.

Step 1

Create an account at a polling website. Most polling sites do not require too much personal information from you. You may need to put in only your name and email address. Polling sites designed specifically for baby names may ask you your due date.

Step 2

Click the “Create New Poll” button once you have created and approved your account.

Step 3

Name your poll, and type it in the box labeled “Poll Question” or “Poll Title.” The poll’s name can be something simple, such as “What Should I Name My Baby?”

Step 4

Type one name in each answer box. Some polling sites limit you to a maximum of four baby names, so make sure your short list only has four or fewer names.

Step 5

Click the “Submit Poll” or “Create Poll” button. The website will provide you with a link that you can send to your family and friends. The Poll Daddy website also provides you with HTML code so that you can embed your baby name poll onto your own website.
