Bad Girl Hairstyles

Just as a shoulder-length bob connotes a prim and proper personality, certain hairstyles impart a bad girl image. Whether you want a complete cut, color and style or just want to add some black barrettes and call it a day, bad girl hairstyles revamp and vamp up your look. Extend the look by dressing with a plunging neckline, or add sparkle to your style with glittery hair gel. Have fun as you experiment with colors and styling products to create the ultimate bad girl hair.

Rockabilly Hairstyle

Rockabilly hairstyles have a sexy, retro look reminiscent of pinup star Bettie Page. If you have shoulder-length hair or longer, you can give it rockabilly style. Straight, short bangs define the look. Go for volume on the top of your head by using large curlers and setting your hair with lotion, gel or spray. Create pin curls down the length of your hair by dividing wet, conditioned hair into sections and wrapping it around ribbons. Use bobby pins to attach the curls until they dry and then gently release them.

Mohawk

For an old-school punk rock look, fashion your hair into a mohawk or its contemporary version, the faux-hawk. The style’s profile consists of a high, spiked middle strip and shaved or low sides. Use a hair mud or putty to slick the sides down and the center upward. A stripe of spray-in color accentuates the punk look.

Goth Girl Hair

Goth hairstyles give you that mysterious vampire look. Begin this look by dyeing your hair blue black. A stripe of blond, red, purple or electric blue provides contrast. If you have straight hair, you can comb it so it nearly hangs in front of your face and slick it down with gel. If you have wavy or curly hair, tease it and place it in giant ponytails. For the wolverine look, place horns at your temples.

Emo Hair

Emo hairstyles also begin with color. Contrast is important, such as black hair with blond bangs or blond hair with black bangs. Part hair on the side, sweeping your hair over to the other side for an asymmetrical new wave look. Other ways to create asymmetry include layering sides different lengths or cutting hair longer in the front and shorter in the back.
