Backcombed Hairstyles

Backcombed hairstyles are dominating the runways, appearing in different versions to complement different types of hair. Fortunately, you don’t need to be a runway model to get backcombed hairstyles; even a plain Jane can get them. Backcombing, also known as teasing, is something you can do if flat hair is no longer cutting it for you. It adds volume and height to your hair. Give your hair some oomph by trying on a backcombed hairstyle and wow anyone who sees you.

Backcombed Bob

Just when you thought they’ve run out of bob hairstyle ideas, now comes a backcombed bob. A backcombed bob revamps the classic and ever popular bob cut by adding volume and flair. Preparing your hair with a shampoo and conditioner for body will help set the groundwork for backcombing. Adding volumizing spray foam on roots and mixing with thickening lotion while your hair is damp will build your hair’s body, giving it a fuller appearance.

Brush your hair upward with a round brush as you blow-dry your hair. Part your hair by separating the front from the back. Securing the front of the hair with clips will keep that portion out of the way. Separate the back section into three. Tie each section into a ponytail using elastic bands. Use a fine-toothed comb or teaser to backcomb the ponytails. Pinning the ponytails at the nape will pad the back portion. Tease the front part and spray on volumizing spray as you go. Using bristle brush will help shape your bob. Finish off with a firm-hold spray.

Big Backcombed Updos

If you are attending a prom, getting married or competing in a beauty pageant, a big backcombed updo will surely turn heads. A big backcombed updo will give you a regal presence by making you look taller. Add volumizing spray, and then backcomb from the front to the middle top part of your head. Tying the rest of your hair will create a ponytail. Pull the ponytail a little close to the top to create the updo. Wrapping the tail around the base of the ponytail and pinning the base with bobby pins will secure the updo in place. Spraying on firm-hold spray all over your hair finishes off the look.

Backcomb Big Sexy Hair

If you want less bump or helmet-like appearance, try backcomb big sexy hair. Backcombing just the front part and leaving the rest loose will give your hair a softer look, but with added volume. Applying mousse and using the curling iron on the lower tresses will give your hair a wavy finish.
