Y&R's Michelle Stafford Expecting Baby Girl Through Surrogate

Two time Emmy winning actress Michelle Stafford has announced
that she is expecting a baby girl by a surrogate, this December.  The
43-year-old first time mom-to-be plays the conniving Phyllis Summers on
the CBS daytime soap “Young and the Restless.”

Like so
many, Michelle had difficulties getting pregnant.  In a statement she
said, “After a three-year journey through hell, I’m elated, ecstatic
and feel
ultimately lucky to be able to announce I’m expecting my own child via
surrogate in December.”

The actress has always wanted a family,
and even though she is single, she decided to start the process on her
own.  “This entire process has been very, very difficult to do on my
own and has made me realize the importance and reason for a
partner,” she said.

Michelle’s journey has indeed been
difficult.  Using prominent Los Angeles fertility specialist Dr.
Buylos, she underwent artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization
and each time it did not work.  She finally decided to find a
surrogate, and turned to agency Fertility Miracles for help.  “I never wavered in my desire to be a mother, but I did
waiver on aspects of the process. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever
done in my life,” said Michelle.

With so much stress and hardship in the past, the actress looks forward to meeting her new daughter.  Her good friend Kirstie Alley
even plans on hosting the baby shower.  Michelle is also still
searching for Mr. Right.  “Dating men and telling them I’m expecting in
December is a little
different.  I know I just need to find someone who wants the
same things as I do.”
