National Cheese Recall Due To E. Coli Scare

Before you break into that cheese this weekend, check and make sure it isn’t Sally Jackson’s cheese.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced that Sally Jackson Cheese is recalling all of its cheese products – that includes cow, goat and sheep – after eight people were sickened with E.coli. The victims may have all consumed the company’s cheese. This bacteria causes diarrhea, fever and chills but can lead to serious kidney damage and death in young children and the elderly.

Sally Jackson cheese was distributed to retail stores, distributors and restaurants. They are soft raw milk cheese with no labels or codes. The cheese is wrapped in chestnut leaves or grape leaves with an outer wrapping of waxed paper

Please return this cheese for a full refund or call 509-429-3057.
