The Stylist Behind Poshs Do

I love Victoria Beckham’s bob haircut, which I just learned has been named the “Pob,” in honor of her Posh moniker. In fact, I am planning to chop off my own long locks and donate them to Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths cancer charity, so I maybe sporting a Pob in the very near future. I was interested to see who is the brains behind the ‘do and I discovered celebrity hair stylist Jessica Galvan not only created the iconic cut, but is now Victoria’s go-to gal for keeping her coiffed.

While working to transform Victoria Beckham’s hair from platinum blonde to rich brunette, Jessica’s biggest worry wasn’t whether the new look would be well received but if she go into labor during Beckham’s eight-hour appointment –at the time, Jessica was eight months pregnant. Luckily, Jessica’s did water not break, and Victoria was thrilled with the results. After creating La Beckham’s California blonde look, Jessica was added to Victoria’s beauty team. “She is one of my favorite clients because she’s so secure in herself, and has so much confidence,” said Jessica. “I can relax and be creative.”

When Victoria wanted another new look for her worldwide reunion tour with the Spice Girls, she asked Jessica to do it. “Victoria really loves change and she was looking for something different,” said Jessica. But not just any brown would do. The combination of Jessica’s expertise and Victoria’s input resulted in Posh’s dynamic and rich brunette color, which used as many as six different shades of brown.
