Lindsay Hasaj and husband Tony were thrilled to give birth to a healthy baby girl. But this was no normal pregnancy. Lindsay has a rare anatomical one-in-a-million woman condition… a double womb, double cervix and double vagina.
Lindsay went to the hospital with a pain in her abdomen and an ultrasound shocked the parents-to-be and the doctors when they discovered she had two wombs, called uterus didelphys, and was pregnant!
Given her enigmatic anatomy, Lindsay’s pregnancy was complicated and terrifying. She had scans every two weeks and even the smallest of problems necessitated going to the hospital.
But against all odds, Lindsay gave birth to a baby girl via C-section and the 27-year old and Tony, 31, feel like “the luckiest parents alive.”
Mirela Elizabeth weighed 6 lbs 3 oz at birth.
