Will James Van Der Beek And His Wife Find Out Their Baby’s Gender?

November 7, 2013 by ModernMom Staff Leave a Comment

Did you find out the sex of your baby ahead of time?

While they found out what they were having with their first two children, for baby number three, James Van Der Beek and his wife Kimberly have decided that they want it to be a surprise.

The pregnant mom talked about the reason behind their choice at the Club MomMe Fall fest in Los Angeles:

“We have no idea. The doctor doesn’t even know. It’s a surprise!” she exclaimed to Us Weekly. “I’m the person who could have had three boys or three girls and not care. Also I was always into keeping the surprise, but at the end of the day I had a hard time. I think I have more will power this time!”

The pair, who tied the knot in 2010, are already parents to two-year-old daughter Olivia, and son Josh, who is 19 months old.

Kimberly did admit that it’s more difficult being pregnant with little ones underfoot.

“It’s harder being pregnant with two toddlers. I’m exhausted [with] this pregnancy! I’m really tired. It’s tough to take a break. This is my most exhausting pregnancy yet.”

But no matter how busy they are with family, the former Dawson’s Creek actor and his honey always make time for each other.

“We make [spending time together] a priority. A lot of times if he films late, we will go out and have dinner after and do something like that or we will go to a matinee on the weekend occasionally. We try to do something every few weeks,” Kimberly explained.

“He is really a hands-on dad. He has an intense filming schedule, but he tries really hard to get home to put them to bed. Normally I will give them a bath and he will do story time and bedtime.”

So cute!
