Jackson's Mother Takes Custody of Children

Just days before a scheduled court hearing, Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine and Debbie Rowe reached an agreement on the custody of the children.  It was decided that Katherine would receive custody while Debbie would be allowed visitation of the Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11.  The biological mother of Prince Michael II, 7, has never been made public.

Katherine, 79, was granted temporary custody of the children after Jackson’s death in June.  His will, dated in 2002, gave custody to his mother, but Rowe was going to challenge the the issue in a court date scheduled for Monday.

Londell McMillan, Katherine Jackson’s attorney, released a statement saying, “Mrs. Jackson and the family are pleased this matter is resolved and was handled in a caring, thoughtful and courteous manner by the parties and their representatives.”

Attorney for Rowe agreed with the statement and said it was a “dignified outcome.”
