Want Gwyneth’s Flawless Skin? Here’s How!

June 3, 2010 by ModernMom Staff Leave a Comment

How do moms in Hollywood always seem to have such effortlessly flawless skin? Celebrity makeup artist Brett Freedman, who has worked on a ton of famous moms including Gwyneth Paltrow, Brooke Shields and Vanessa Williams talked to Modernmom and gave us his very favorite concealers, from the high end ones to the drugstore picks. Here’s the scoop:
High: Brett’s very favorite concealer, and one he has used on many celebrities is Cle De Peau. He even dishes about it in this

month’s InStyle Magazine. Though it’s a little on the expensive side, Brett swears by it and says it “moves with the skin.”
Medium: Brett loves MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer. With 14 colors to choose from, it’s easy to nail the perfect shade and tone. Plus, it’s just $16.50

Low: Maybelline Cover Stick Corrector Concealer is his favorite drugstore buy. It only comes in 5 shades, so you may want to buy 2 to mix and match. The consistency is great, and for under $10, this is a sure bet!

An expert tip: Before you douse your face with concealer, use foundation or tinted moisturizer first for a ‘veil of coverage.’ You don’t need as much concealer as you thought, use it sparingly and only on the deepest darkest inner corners of the eyes and blemishes. For blemish coverage, be sure to use a tight, pinpoint brush for precision.
