In a frank interview with Eve magazine, Julianne Moore, mom to Caleb, 10 and Liv, 5, talks about the pressures to maintain an ‘acceptable’ figure in the film industry. “I think I’m a slender person, but the industry apparently doesn’t,” she says. “All actresses are hungry all the time, I think.”
Her own wacky diet, she says, is not satiating, nor satisfying. “I still battle with my deeply boring diet of, essentially, yogurt and breakfast cereal and granola bars. I hate dieting. I hate having to do it to be the ‘right’ size. I’m hungry all the time.”
I’m sure moms and actresses Liv Tyler, Kate Hudson, and Jen Garner can all relate. All three were scrutinized for keeping on their pregnancy pounds for a couple months after having their little ones. They may have the hired help and other perks of Hollywood wealth, but I think the rest of us are better off being able to gain a little weight here and there without it being an issue of national concern.
