Courteney and David Aim to Raise $1 Million in Two Weeks for Charity

The World Entertainment News Network reports that celeb parents Courteney Cox and David Arquette have given themselves two weeks to raise $1 million to help the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation, a center dedicated to helping people afflicted with the incurable skin condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). EB is a genetic condition that causes internal organs to blister and the skin to ulcerate and disintegrate, leaving burn-like sores all over sufferers’ bodies, which do not heal. Estimates indicate that as many as 100,000 Americans suffer from some form of EB, and in children the wounds could cover up to 75% of the body.

The Arquettes are honorary board members of the foundation, and this power couple has roped in high-profile friends such as Jennifer Aniston, Orlando Bloom, and celebumom Kate Beckinsale to get the contributions flowing. You can help by donating to the foundation at www.ebkids.org, or by purchasing an EB charity necklace (it’s very cute and a steal at $24) at www.satyajewelry.com/catalog/. Courteney said of their crusade, “Now is such an important time to put the spotlight on EB and ensure that research can continue at a fast pace. EB is very personal to me so I’m happy to be a part of this $1 million challenge.”
