Kate Hudson Talks Love and Dating (Or Lack Thereof)

In honor of Valentine’s Day today, Mommywood decided to check in with the loveable celebumama Kate Hudson, mom to Ryder, 4. According to Kate, family is the love of her life. When asked what she treasures most, in an interview to promote her film “Fool’s Gold,” she said, “The first thing that comes to my mind is my son. Nothing exists without your children — and my family.” Sounds like the best kind of true love to me!

Kate has been through a lot in the past year emotionally, with her divorce from Black Crowes’ front man Chris Robinson, to her on-again-off-again romance with actor Owen Wilson, who recently attempted suicide. Over the past year, Kate has changed a great deal. “The most difficult transition for me was discovering who I was without Chris. I love him dearly.” However, she believes that being alone has taught her a great deal about herself: “Doing things for myself is a nice change,” she says.

And now, Kate is back in the dating world, which she says is tough for her on many levels. “Every time I go out with friends, I always end up in the tabloids, supposedly making out with somebody (laughter). It’s just not worth it! I’m not wild — I never have been. In high school, I wasn’t a party girl.” She continued, saying, “I’m single and people go, ‘Now is your time to have fun! Go crazy!’ But, I don’t have it in me. I love waking up in the morning and making pancakes for Ryder. I don’t have interest in dating right now.”

How have you gotten back out there after divorce? What are some tips for dating while you have small children?
