The late fashion mogul, Alexander McQueen, is remembered as someone who had a loving relationship with his mother.
McQueen, 40, was found dead Thursday in his London home. The lead fashion writer at the UK’s Daily Telegraph wrote, “When his adored mother, Joyce, died, leaving him so desolate that, it seems, he could not face the future.” McQueen’s mother died only 10 days ago.
McQueen died the day before the funeral for his mother was to be held. McQueen’s older brother told the Evening Standard, “it is just so raw. We are grieving. Everyone is too upset to say anything. But mum’s funeral is going ahead,” he said. “It has all been arranged.” According to PEOPLE, the funeral went on as planned so that family and friends could celebrate Joyce’s life.
McQueen’s autopsy will be performed Monday in Westminster, London.
