Celeb Parents Bundles of Joy Bring in Wads of Cash From Magazines

A magazine running a cute photo of a celebumom and her newborn baby on the cover isn’t anything new. However, the amount of money that now comes with these photos (as mags compete for the best stars and the stars compete for the proper coverage) has soared significantly over the past few years. Payment is now a given. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were reportedly paid $6 million for allowing People magazine to put their twins Max and Emme on the magazine’s cover this month. People also recently paid $1.5 million for pop star Christina Aguilera for the first snaps of her baby son Max.

However, the biggest price tag is predicted to go to pregnant Angelina Jolie‘s twins (if she is indeed expecting two babies). Rumor has it she can expect a $10 million payday. When Shiloh was born in 2006, People reportedly handed over between $2 to 4 million for her first photos; the money was then donated to charity. As the World Entertainment News Network reports, one magazine boss told the New York Post, “It’s at the point now where some stars might decide to have more kids just to collect the money from their photos.”

Do you think stars should be paid to give out their babies’ photos? Should the money go directly to charity and not to the parents themselves?
