Joey Fatone is “Thrilled” by New Baby Girl

After a difficult pregnancy, *NSYNC singer Joey Fatone and his wife of five-years, Kelly, welcomed a baby girl to their growing family. Kloey Alexandra Fatone was born in Orlando, Fla. on Monday evening.

The couple reported to PEOPLE magazine that Kloey weighed in at 5 lbs., 8 oz. She is the second child of the couple who already have a daughter, Briahna, 8 ½. Fatone told PEOPLE, “Kloey’s so small. She looks like a little doll. But she’s healthy and doing just fine.”

The couple must be so relieved have a healthy baby. They had to overcome many obstacles along the course of Kelly’s pregnancy. When Kelly first learned she was expecting, the couple reported that “she was so tired, just exhausted all the time. We took her to the doctors, and they found blood clots in her lungs. It was life and death.”

Doctors discovered that Kelly had a rare genetic disease called methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase. This disease threatens the mother’s life and increases the likelihood that the child will have a chromosomal disease.

PEOPLE reports that Kelly began having fainting spells and a rapid heartbeat last week. Doctors induced labor two-weeks early. A relieved new dad, Fatone says,”The blood clots have broken up, Kelly’s doing fine and Kloey is awesome. I’m just so happy that everyone’s healthy.”

So are we. Good luck to the Fatone family!
