Celebrity Chef Giada De Laurentiis Welcomes a Baby Girl

Today show contributor, Food Network star, and Italian chef extraordinaire Giada De Laurentiis, 37, and her clothing-designer hubby, Todd Thompson, 44, welcomed their first child together, Jade Marie, on Saturday in Los Angeles, a rep for Giada told People magazine.

Giada’s pregnancy was punctuated by cravings for steak and disbelief that she was actually having a baby: “When I found out I was pregnant I was in complete shock,” Giada said last November, when she first announced her baby news. “I truly didn’t believe it,” she said. “I honestly thought, ‘There has got to be a mistake.’ ” By February, the shock gave way to joy. “I couldn’t be more excited about being pregnant,” Giada said. “I can’t wait to meet her.”
