Tim McGraw Couldn't Function Without Faith Hill

Whether you love country music or not, you’ll love Tim McGraw in the new movie The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock. It’s an amazing story and McGraw is fabulous (as is the rest of the cast). But I digress…

McGraw is a man who can admit that he needs his wife. Love that. He recently told Parade.com that his lovely wife, Faith Hill, is “very much in control of our life. She works out everybody’s schedule. I wouldn’t be able to function without her.”

He also doesn’t mind when his wife gives him a few pointers on his acting. “I love having suggestions from Faith, she’s great at what she does. She just gives me input like, ‘Calm down. Slow down, don’t talk so fast.’ Things that she can say that I love to hear because I know she is helping me.”

McGraw not only sings and acts, he also grew up playing sports. Three no less – football, basketball and baseball. He didn’t start really playing the guitar until he was in college.

His roommates weren’t huge fans of his talent (or lack there of, at the time). “I was just learning to play and they didn’t have much sympathy. It took me a while to get to where it was tolerable. So they would hide my guitar from me for days on end.”

But, since boys will be boys, they changed their tune sometimes. “When the girls came around, they made sure I found it because the ladies would be mildly impressed. But then they would leave with the girls and I would be left with the guitar. I learned really quickly to at least make sure one of the girls stayed around to hear me finish a song.”

He did something right since he ended up with a talented gorgeous wife and an incredible singing career!

Oh, and the guy is humble too! He said “…I feel like even in my music, I’m only about thirty percent as good as I really want to be or can be. It’s just a work in progress. Probably until the day I die, I’ll feel like I still left some in the bucket.”

Did I mention he also has a sense of humor? When asked if he likes to watch himself on the big screen he said “I hate it. Especially when I’m clean-shaven. I think I look just like my dad. I tell my mom I look like her when I have a goatee and I look like my dad when I’m clean shaven, I don’t know what that says.”

What’s not to love.
