Jaycee Dugard was only 11 when she was kidnapped in 1991. At the age of 14, she gave birth to her first child, unaware of what was happening to her body.
“I didn’t know I was in labor,” Dugard told Diane Sawyer in a Primetime interview airing Sunday.
Since she was so young, Dugard didn’t understand sex. Jaycee recalled birth as being extremely painful, especially since she received no medical care. When her daughter arrived, Jaycee told Sawyer that she felt like she wasn’t alone anymore and that she had somebody else who was hers.
Dugard gave birth to another girl in 1997 and educated the children in a school she created in her captivity. She was released after 18 years and wrote a book about her experience titled ‘A Stolen Life.’
