Giuliana and Bill Rancic: Third Time’s a Charm for IVF?
Giuliana and Bill Rancic really want a baby, but the universe is just not helping them out! The couple have tried in vitro fertilization twice to no avail.
“One time sadly we miscarried and the other time didn’t work, so it’s been really tough,” the E! News host, 35, shared Tuesday on The Talk.
While it’s been no picnic, the Rancics are not losing hope. “We’re going to do IVF another time in the near future because our doctor suggested, ‘I think I can get you pregnant.’”
But they’ve also given themselves an ultimatum. If they don’t get pregnant the third time around, they’re going to start exploring another wonderful alternative: adoption.
“When we were in Italy recently I felt very connected to Naples, where I’m from. We thought it would be really wonderful to be able to adopt a child from where I’m from and give a child there some opportunity,” Rancic explains.
She got some negative feedback on Twitter after she posted her possible foreign adoption, but she’s staying firm in what she believes in. “I got some Tweets … of people saying, ‘You should adopt from America’ and ‘A lot of kids need help’ and of course that’s true, but you know what? How can you tell a woman where she should adopt from?’” she said, a bit flustered. ”You’ve got to follow your heart. So if it’s a foreign country, if it’s in your backyard … A child is a child.”
Ultimately, Rancic and her supportive husband are staying happy and positive because there’s no use sulking! “Right now we’re doing a year of fun–we just needed time off,” she admitted. “You’ve got to look at the positive.”
