Jennifer Lopez had an emotional moment during a concert on Saturday night, breaking into tears onstage after a touching performance that she said took her on a “trip down memory lane.”
“I’m going to sing you the last song I wrote about love,” she told the packed crowd at the Mohegan Sun in Montville, Connecticut. “A lot has changed since then.”
The 42-year-old, who split from her husband Marc Anthony over the summer, then launched into a song from her latest album, “One Love” – with choreography that paid tribute to her past romances. Dancers dressed like exes P. Diddy, Ben Affleck and Marc Anthony re-enacted the singer’s high-profile relationships.
When the song was over, she broke into tears while the crowd applauded. “After I sang the song, I’m standing there, and I realized that I did bare a little bit of my thoughts in this song. I also acted it out, kind of, for the audience. The way they received it was very touching,” she told Access Hollywood.
“I think that they felt what I felt, which is, you know, I’m just a girl, just like everybody else, trying to find my way,” she continued. “I felt like they got that, and they understood it, and we were all like one at that moment.”
