Cynthia Nixon unveiled a new bold look Tuesday on Live! With Kelly – bald!
The 45-year-old “Sex and the City” actress kissed her signature red locks goodbye in order to get in character for her latest role as a terminally ill cancer patient.
“I was always kind of curious to see what it would be like,” Nixon told Kelly Ripa and guest host Mary J. Blige. “I like it.”
One downside – it turns out that going bald is actually a semi-high maintenance hair style.
“I thought it was kind of gonna be no muss-no fuss, but I have to shave it every day!” she said. “It’s got kind of a five o’clock shadow, and you don’t want to go on with that.”
Nixon, who is herself a breast cancer survivor, will play cancer-stricken poetry professor Vivian Bearing in a Broadway production of “Wit” that opens Friday.
