Nick and Aaron Carter’s Sister Leslie Dies at 25

February 1, 2012 by ModernMom Staff Leave a Comment

Nick and Aaron Carter’s sister Leslie has died, a spokesperson for the family confirmed to Access Hollywood. She was 25 years old.

No details of her death are currently available, other than that she died in upstate New York.

“Our family is grieving right now and it’s a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter,” the family said in a statement. “We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time.”

The Carter family is known for their musical talent. Nick, 32, was a member of the pop group “The Backstreet Boys” while Aaron, 24, rose to fame as a pop singer in the late ’90s.

Leslie herself was an aspiring singer whose song “Like Wow!” was included on the Shrek soundtrack in 2001. She also appeared with her siblings on the reality show “House of Carters.”

Following news of her death, Nick said that instead of canceling his upcoming tour, he will dedicate it to her memory. “Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform,” the singer said in a statement released via his publicist, Jack Ketsoyan. The tour will resume Thursday at New York’s Irving Plaza.

Leslie is survived by her 10-month-old daughter, Allysa Jane and husband Mike Ashton.
