Former Disney teen queen Hilary Duff opened up about being a new mom – from breastfeeding to belly buttons!
It’s been just about a month since the 24-year-old actress and her husband, hockey player Mike Comrie, welcomed son Luca Cruz, and Duff says she’s really enjoying the time she spends nursing.
“I’m breastfeeding now so that’s a really wonderful experience — challenging but wonderful,” she told Us Weekly. My favorite thing is feeling that incredible amount of love when you meet your baby and you wake up the next morning and you think, ‘Wow!'”
The baby is the first child for the couple, who will celebrate their second anniversary this August.
And speaking of milestones, Duff shared a funny anecdote about one of the first big moments in little Luca’s life:
“You know what was a big milestone? The belly button falling off,” she told People. “That was a huge one. And then I wanted to keep it but my husband was like, ‘No, that’s gross, you can’t keep it!’ I’m like, ‘I’m totally keeping it,’ and I secretly kept it. But now it’s not a secret anymore. It’s in a Ziploc bag in the back of my makeup drawer. Luca’s going to think I’m a freak!”
