Wynonna Judd’s Husband Loses Leg in Crash
Michael Scott “Cactus” Moser had to have his leg amputated following a serious motorcycle crash in South Dakota over the weekend.
The 55-year-old husband of singer Wynonna Judd drifted over the center line and hit the door of an oncoming vehicle, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Judd, 48, who was riding her own Harley Davidson with Moser, was not hurt in the collision. He was taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital where doctors were forced to amputate above the knee. They also reportedly performed surgery on one of his hands.
The accident took place Saturday before the couple’s scheduled show in Deadwood, S.D., which was subsequently canceled. Moser is the drummer for Judd’s band.
“The outpouring of prayer and support from friends, family and fans has been a blessing to both Cactus and I. Cactus is a champion. I love him deeply and I will not leave his side,” Judd said in the statement.
The couple exchanged vows this past June in an intimate ceremony at the singer’s home in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee.
