Rufus Wainwright and longtime boyfriend Jorn Weisbrodt tied the knot on Thursday at the singer-songwriter’s home in Montauk, New York.
Wainwright, 39, and his groom (who is the artistic director of the Luminato Festival), wore custom Viktor & Rolf Monsieur. The ceremony was performed by a longtime friend, the artist Justin Vivian Bond.
According to the New York Post, the 250 guests included Yoko Ono, Carrie Fisher, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Julianne Moore and Mark Ronson, who, after the ceremony ate “local steamers and cherry tomatoes, lobster rolls and clam chowder” at the Clam Bar in Napeague.
One adorable touch – guests received a special jar of local plum jam labeled “Rufus+Jorn’s Hochzeit.”
The couple started dating in 2007 and got engaged in 2010. In February 2011, Wainwright announced that he and Lorca Cohen (daughter of famed musician Leonard Cohen) had welcomed a baby girl, Viva Katherine Wainwright Cohen.
He wrote on his website: “Darling daughter Viva Katherine Wainwright Cohen was born on February 2, 2011 in Los Angeles, California to proud parents Lorca Cohen, Rufus Wainwright and Deputy Dad Jorn Weisbrodt. Lorca Cohen is the mother of the baby and Rufus Wainwright is the father.”
