Pamper Yourself on Mother’s Day

May 2, 2011 by Karen Scott Leave a Comment

Mother’s Day Pampering recipe:

That very special day is approaching fast…how about putting some time aside for yourself in the morning or afternoon of Mother’s Day to pamper yourself before the special festivities begin! Wouldn’t it be nice to have 30 minutes or even 1 hour just for you?! Begin by setting the mood with some relaxing music and a scented candle or two. Close the bathroom door behind you and pretend you are at a relaxing day spa…

To start, enjoy an invigorating facial scrub and follow with a facial mask. While you are exfoliating away, run your bath water for a nice, relaxing epsom salt bubble bath to soothe tired, aching muscles. Relax in the bath for as long as you can.

Tip: If you do not have an exfoliator on hand, a good home recipe is olive oil and sugar (mix together). To make a good mask for replenishing moisture, half an avocado will do. Apply a layer about 1/4 inch thick to your clean face and let sit for 20 to 30 minutes. Rinse well with warm water and a washcloth.

After you have washed your facial mask off, give yourself a quick facial massage to relieve any tension in your face. Massage around your forehead and around your eyebrows with your fingertips for a couple minutes. Then with your knuckles massage around your jawline and cheeks. You will begin to chill out.

Tip: If you did not have time to get a mani/pedi, use some of your exfoliator on your hands and feet and pamper them with a nice hand and foot massage using your favorite hand or body cream. If you want to keep pampering, give yourself a body exfoliation and rinse off in the shower.

Keep your relaxed mood going…now take a look in the mirror at your brows. Take a tweezer to the obvious hairs that are lingering lower than the brow itself. This will help brighten the eyes a little. Apply some makeup after your face cream–a little makeup goes a long way. Whatever your plans are today, add a pretty glow to your face by applying concealer and a bronzing powder. Top off with a couple of coats of mascara and a pop of color on your lips. Put on a cute outfit and begin the festivities.

Whatever your plans are today, relax and enjoy!! Happy Mother’s Day!
