Baby Wipes Recalled Due to Possible Contamination

The US Food and Drug administration announced a massive baby wipes recall. Nutek Disposables, Inc. has issued a voluntary product recall of their baby wipes under the brand names: Cuties, Diapers.com, Femtex, Fred’s, Kidgets, Member’s Mark, Simply Right, Sunny Smiles, Tender Touch and Well Beginnings.

The products were sold at Walgreens, Sam’s Club, Family Dollar, Fred’s and Diapers.com.

The bacteria Burkholderia cepacia (B. cepacia) was found in some wipes that were tested. The bacteria typically doesn’t pose a threat for healthy individuals but it can be of concern for those living with health problems, such as cystic fibrosis or chronic lung diseases, that lead to a weakened immune system, according to a press release from the FDA.

Please stop using the wipes immediately and return them to the store for a full refund or call the company directly. Nutek – 1-855-646-4351.

Please spread the word and stay safe.
